Skydance Paramount Plans to Cut Approximately 2,000 American Positions – Update
Skydance Paramount is scheduled to begin mass layoffs the week of 27 October, removing nearly 2,000 US jobs under a budget-saving initiative totaling $2bn under top executive David Ellison.
The workforce reduction are a result of the union of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed during August valued at $8.4bn.
More global layoffs are expected, with Paramount Skydance aiming to disclose complete information via its third-quarter financial update set for the 10th of November.
Previous updates suggested the company planned to reduce from 2,000 and 3,000 roles before the start of November.
Until December 2024, Paramount had nearly 18,600 workers on full-time and part-time contracts and 3,500 project-based staff.
Paramount Skydance has not yet commented on the matter.
