Chopper Spirals Wildly into Palm Fronds at Popular Southern California Beach
A chopper flying over a crowded southern California shoreline suddenly started spinning out of control, finally descending rapidly and crashing into a line of palm trees as beachgoers looked on.
Videos shared on the internet capture the aircraft commencing to spiral over the beach then descending in the direction of the border of the coast, where it ends up lodged between palm groves and a set of stairs near the coastal road.
First Aid Update
Local firefighters said five persons were taken to hospital involving a pair who were in the helicopter and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” following the incident on Saturday.
Three individuals on the street were harmed. Details on their wounds were not yet released.
The cause of the crash was still under investigation.
